Another innovative imaging app for financial services has come out of France. EyeBuy, based in Vannes in northwestern France, offers a service in which users can snap a picture of an item with their smartphone camera and be taken to an e-commerce site selling that app. A video of the service in action is below. France is no stranger to financial innovations with the smartphone. Pixeliris boasts a sonic payment system, similar to what Clinkle may eventually offer, as well as an interesting use case for QR codes. In addition, two French banks have launched mobile-first bank accounts that put American competitors to shame: BNP Paribas’s Hello Bank! and AXA Banque’s Soon.
