A new startup accelerator has been launched in London, Startupbootcamp Fintech. With high-profile partners like MasterCard, Rabobank and Lloyds, Startupbootcamp is now accepting applications from startups for entry into its first three-month program, which begins in August. Ten worthy startups will receive office space in London for three months, plus €15,000 — about $20,000. The Startupbootcamp Fintech office space is in St. Katharine Docks, just east of the city’s financial center. The sponsoring companies are also offering the startups access to data and APIs. At the close of the three-month period, a Demo Day will be held with entrepreneurs and the venture capital community in attendance. London has a strong startup scene, with particular strength in currency innovations, such as virtual currencies and international remittances. The managing director of Startupbootcamp Fintech is Nektarios Liolios, who was an innovation leader at Innotribe. “We are very excited to have started this journey and are looking forward to attracting the best fintech startups in the world to come to London later this year,” Liolios wrote in an email to friends of the program.
