PayPal President David Marcus, whose credit card was apparently hacked earlier this week, is now tearing into employees for lacking passion for the company and its products. If you haven’t installed the PayPal app or can’t remember your PayPal password, Marcus wrote in an email leaked to VentureBeat, go work somewhere else. (Square is hiring, and you don’t have to schlep all the way down to San Jose to work there.) “It’s been brought to my attention that when testing paying with mobile at Cafe 17 last week, some of you refused to install the PayPal app (!!?!?!!), and others didn’t even remember their PayPal password. That’s unacceptable to me, and the rest of my team, everyone at PayPal should use our products where available. That’s the only way we can make them better, and better,” Marcus wrote. He went on to excoriate staffers at the company’s San Jose headquarters in particular, saying that employees at other PayPal locations use the app more and generate more leads for the sales team.
