Authentication of users, particularly users of mobile banking, was top of mind at Finovate, as was mobile wallet. This is fitting, since a recent study showed security fears were the number one reason holding back mobile wallet adoption. None of the five Best of Show award winners were from these two prominent product categories. The Best of Show winners were FamZoo, for its family of prepaid card; LendUp, for its lending platform for the underserved; MoneyDesktop, for its new analytics and marketing engine; PayNearMe, for the whitelabeled version of its cash payment system; and TipRanks, for its free browser plug-in that rates investors by the success of their investment calls.
