Wells Fargo & Co. introduced SurePay, a person-to-person (P2P) payments solution for mobile devices, on July 17. The video introducing it is below. SurePay is the new name for Wells Fargo‘s P2P payments platform. Formerly known as Send & Receive Money, the SurePay brand was introduced in May 2013. (It appears as though Marketing finally got involved.) In May 2012, Send & Receive Money was the first P2P product to be built on the clearXchange platform, shared among Wells Fargo, Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase. The launch video for Send & Receive Money is here. SurePay requires online registration of payees with the SurePay system, which is, in our view, a weak point for a mobile service.
