What is the best way for a bank to promote its P2P funds transfer service? Bank of America took on that question in a little-noticed video it uploaded several weeks ago showing the signup process for its money transfer service. The video is noteworthy not only for its homage to the work of director Wes Anderson — note the “precocious young kid” — but for the level of detail it shows in signing up for this process. Since the bank has offered person-to-person (P2P payment) functionality since 2011, the video is a sign that BofA wants its customers to know that signing up is straightforward, and that its P2P service can use a boost.
