Simple, despite its closed-door policy for new members, has really opened up. The digital banking service announced today that it will soon incorporate the payments provider Venmo Touch and file transfer solution Dropbox into its platform. The announcement follows a June announcement from Simple indicating that the company made it easier to add and withdraw money from a user’s Simple account. Both of these moves make Simple a more open and social platform. Venmo Touch is a card-storage system that allows users to check out at a point of sale using one touch with participating mobile apps. Users can now add their Simple debit cards to Venmo Touch from within the Simple app itself. Venmo Touch is a product of payments platform provider Braintree. Dropbox is a file transfer system for moving files between devices, including mobile devices. Users can now attach documents from their Dropbox folders to Simple transactions. Simple added the ability to tag receipts and attach them to transactions in February, and the company sees this move as an extension of that service.
